Basketball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Mandeville

Mandeville had won two straight games and Alanna Benoit did her part to make it three on Tuesday. The Mandeville Skippers took down the Hammond Tornadoes 59-45 thanks in part to Benoit, who posted 26 points along with eight assists and eight steals. The game was her ninth in a row with at least ten points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Ava Carpenter, who went 6 of 13 en route to 16 points and three steals. Those 16 points gave her a new career-high.

Mandeville has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 14-6 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.9 points per game. As for Hammond, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-13.

Mandeville won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against St. Thomas Aquinas at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. One thing working in Mandeville's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three games. As for Hammond, they will head out to face off against Albany at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
