Baseball Game Preview: Mililani Trojans vs. Leilehua Mighty Mules

The Mililani Trojans will head out to square off against the Leilehua Mighty Mules at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Mililani will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.

Mililani is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Hawaii's top teams: Campbell, who was ranked 15th at the time (Mililani was ranked first). Mililani's pitchers stepped up to hand Campbell a 7-0 shutout on Wednesday. The result was nothing new for the Trojans, who have now won four matches by seven runs or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Leilehua). Everything went their way against 'Aiea on Wednesday as Leilehua made off with a 14-7 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Mighty Mules.

Titan Pasco was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Pasco was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.

In other batting news, Leilehua let Jacob Sablan and Kela Baptista run wild. Sablan went 3-for-4 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run, while Baptista went 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one double. Sablan also hit a double, marking his first of the season. Ryden Sasaki was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three RBI.

Leilehua always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .561. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Leilehua now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Mililani, their record now sits at 6-1.

Mililani beat Leilehua 4-0 when the teams last played on March 5th. The rematch might be a little tougher for Mililani since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
