Softball Recap: Jackson Ironman/Ironladies vs. Point Pleasant Big Blacks
Jackson proved they can win big last Saturday (they won by six) and on Monday they proved they can win the close ones too. They won by a run and slipped past the Point Pleasant Big Blacks 4-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Ironman/Ironladies have posted since April 9, 2024.
Serenity Taylor spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on five hits and racked up seven Ks.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Aaliyah Barnett, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. What's more, she posted two RBI, the most she's had since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Maddie Wright, who went 1-for-4 with one triple and one RBI.
Jackson's victory bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Point Pleasant, their loss dropped their record down to 1-3.
Jackson didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 6-2 win against Circleville on the 25th. As for Point Pleasant, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, an 11-5 victory against Meigs on the 26th.
