Baseball Recap: Craigmont Comes Up Short

Craigmont was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost an 8-7 heartbreaker at the hands of the Memphis East Mustangs. The Chiefs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Mustangs apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2015.

Adam Stiger was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in two of his three plate appearances with four stolen bases and two runs. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games he's played. Kendall Hampton also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Craigmont's loss dropped their record down to 1-10. As for Memphis East, their victory ended a seven-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-10.

Coming up, Craigmont will host Douglass at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Memphis East, they will venture away from home to face off against Kingsbury at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
