Baseball Recap: Norwich RVT Wins Going Away Against Old Saybrook

Norwich RVT had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the seven-run drubbing they dealt Old Saybrook on Monday. The Warriors were the clear victors by an 11-4 margin over the Rams.

Jacoby LaGram tossed a big game, tossing 4.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off seven hits. What's more, he posted two strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April.

On the hitting side, Norwich RVT got a massive performance out of Cole Arnio, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Arnio also hit a double, marking his first of the season. Collin Schulze was another key player, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.

Norwich RVT is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-7 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.6 runs over those games. As for Old Saybrook, their loss dropped their record down to 6-9.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Norwich RVT will challenge Vinal RVT at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Old Saybrook, they will square off against Windham at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
