Chesapeake had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 13-run drubbing they dealt Severn Run on Friday. The Cougars' pitchers stepped up to hand the Wolves a 13-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Cougars, who have now won seven matches by seven runs or more so far this season.

Chesapeake's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-4. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.5 runs on average over those games. As for Severn Run, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-9.
