Basketball Game Preview: North Baltimore Tigers vs. Cory-Rawson Fighting Hornets

North Baltimore has gone 7-2 against Cory-Rawson recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. After both having extra time off, both will shake off the cobwebs and challenge one another at 5:30 p.m. North Baltimore has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.

North Baltimore is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They came out on top against Upper Scioto Valley by a score of 63-55 last Friday.

It was another big night for Lacie Allison, who went 13 for 22 on her way to 30 points and eight rebounds. The match was her ninth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Aubrey Cotterman, who posted eight points in addition to eight boards and six assists.

North Baltimore was working as a unit and finished the game with 12 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Upper Scioto Valley only posted five assists.

Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 63-11, which was the final score in Cory-Rawson's tilt against Columbus Grove two weeks ago. While losing is never fun, the Fighting Hornets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 613th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 49th).

North Baltimore has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.0 points per game. As for Cory-Rawson, they dropped their record down to 3-7 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road.

North Baltimore was taken down by Cory-Rawson 57-24 when the teams last played back in January of 2024. Can North Baltimore avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
