Volleyball Game Preview: Coronado Mustangs vs. Amarillo Sandies

Coronado hasn't had much luck against Amarillo recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Mustangs will head out on the road to challenge the Sandies at 7:00 p.m. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Saturday, Coronado was able to grind out a solid victory over Monterey, taking the game 3-1. The win continues a trend for the Mustangs in their matchups with the Plainsmen: they've now won six in a row.

Coronado was especially dominant in the fourth set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 25-22, 19-25, 25-11.

Meanwhile, Amarillo got the win against Palo Duro on Friday by a conclusive 3-0.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Amarillo was: they took every set by at least ten points. The match finished with set scores of 25-10, 25-5, 25-15.

Coronado's record now sits at 18-14. As for Amarillo, their record is now 23-8.

Coronado might still be hurting after the 3-0 loss they got from Amarillo in their previous meeting back in August. Can the Mustangs avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
