Softball Recap: Todd County Central Find Success

While Todd County Central didn't have the best season last year (they finished 12-15), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They had just enough and edged out the Cumberland County Panthers 6-5. This was a revenge game for the Rebels: when they faced off against the Panthers back in March, they had to take a 8-7 loss.

Ella Hall was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Isabelle Hightower was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two RBI and one run.

Todd County Central hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in six consecutive games.

Todd County Central's win bumped their record up to 8-5. As for Cumberland County, with the defeat, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 6-7-1.

Coming up, Todd County Central will head out to square off against Logan County at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Cumberland County, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Livingston Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The Wildcats' pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so the Panthers' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
