Basketball Game Preview: Somerville Yeguas vs. Fayetteville Lions

Having just played yesterday, the Somerville Yeguas will head out on the road to face off against the Fayetteville Lions at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Somerville has given up an average of 51 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Somerville saw some tournament action on Thursday. The contest between the Yeguas and Thorndale didn't end well, with the Yeguas falling 58-42. The Yeguas have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Fayetteville). They enjoyed a cozy 69-55 victory over Thorndale on Thursday. The win continues a trend for the Lions in their matchups with the Bulldogs: they've now won three in a row.

Fayetteville's victory bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Somerville, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.

Somerville might still be hurting after the 71-49 loss they got from Fayetteville when the teams last played back in December of 2024. Can the Yeguas avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
