Basketball Recap: Hill City Sets Scoring Season-High Against Plainville

Hill City was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 14th straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a 41-33 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Plainville Cardinals. One positive for the Ringnecks, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

Hill City's loss came despite strong showings from Rylie Minium and Sada Nelson. Minium posted 23 points and eight rebounds, while Nelson earned six points. The matchup was Minium's third in a row with at least ten points.

Hill City's loss dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Plainville, they moved to 2-5 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hill City will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Smith Center at 6:00 p.m. on January 28th. Hill City has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games. Plainville also won't see the court for a while: their next game is against Ellsworth on January 28th.
