Porter lost to Lopez back in January, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Tuesday. While the 2-2 score might suggest a draw, it was the Porter Cowboys who were credited with the win. The Porter Cowboys got it done in the shootout by posting five goals to the Lopez Lobos' four. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Cowboys' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 169th, while the Lobos are ranked 27th).

Porter has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-4-1 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 25 goals over those nine matchups. As for Lopez, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 12-1-1.

Looking ahead, Porter will face off against Donna at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Lopez, they will square off against Donna North at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (Donna North has won three straight at home, while Lopez won three straight on the road), something that'll have to change.
