Whitmire has gone a perfect 3-0 against Thornwell recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Whitmire Wolverines will venture away from home to take on the Thornwell Saints at 6:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Whitmire is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Newberry just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Thursday. They came up short against the Bulldogs, falling 15-5.

Crue Keller made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with three RBI and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in May of 2024.

Meanwhile, Thornwell lost 14-3 to Whitmire on Wednesday. The defeat continues a trend for the Saints in their meetings with the Wolverines: they've now lost three in a row.

Sam Robertson was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double. Those hits were his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Jaden Wilson, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Whitmire now has a losing record of 4-5. As for Thornwell, their loss dropped their record down to 2-5.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Friday as neither team is afraid to steal. Whitmire has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 5.1 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Thornwell struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.7 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.

Everything went Whitmire's way against Thornwell when the teams last played on Wednesday, as Whitmire made off with a 14-3 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Whitmire since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
