Baseball Recap: Las Lomas' Losing Streak Snapped at Three Games

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Freedom, Las Lomas was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Archie Williams Peregrine Falcons by a score of 6-3. For the Knights, this counts as revenge for the 3-1 win the Peregrine Falcons walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February of 2015.

Las Lomas got a great performance from Alessandro Martinez-Cabrera as he struck out eight batters over 4.1 innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. Those eight strikeouts gave Martinez-Cabrera a new career-high.

On the hitting side, Jackson Murphy was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with three RBI, one triple, and one run. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Jack Foscalina was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and two runs.

With the victory, Las Lomas broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 5-6-1. As for Archie Williams, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-7.

Las Lomas has already played their next game, a 2-1 win against Northgate on the 15th. As for Archie Williams, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 6-2 victory against Albany on the 14th.
