Baseball Game Preview: East Union Eagles vs. Southeast Warren Warhawks

East Union hasn't had much luck against Southeast Warren recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Eagles will take on the Warhawks at 6:00 p.m. East Union has given up an average of 7.6 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

East Union fell victim to Martensdale-St. Mary's and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They came up short against the Blue Devils, falling 15-0. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Southeast Warren got the win against Nodaway Valley on Friday by a conclusive 13-2. The win continues a trend for the Warhawks in their matchups with the Wolverines: they've now won three in a row.

Southeast Warren's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-5. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.0 runs over those games. As for East Union, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-6.

East Union skirted past Southeast Warren 2-1 in their previous matchup back in June of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
