Softball Recap: Cannon Comes Up Short

After flying high against Wesleyan Christian Academy last Tuesday, Cannon came back down to earth. Cannon fell just short of the South Rowan Raiders by a score of 4-3 on Monday.

Addie Hartz spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned runs on five hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Cannon saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Clark Hudson, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Cannon's defeat dropped their record down to 3-2. As for South Rowan, they now have a winning record of 4-3.

Cannon has already played their next match, a 15-1 loss against South Caldwell on the 11th. As for South Rowan, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 10-9 win against Central Cabarrus on the 11th.
