Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Fort Lauderdale). They put the hurt on the Stranahan Mighty Dragons with a sharp 21-2 victory on Monday. The win continues a trend for the Flying L's in their matchups with the Mighty Dragons: they've now won three in a row.

The team relied heavily on Cole Phillips, who scored two runs and stole three bases while going 2-for-2. He is becoming a predictor of Fort Lauderdale's success: when he posts at least two stolen bases the team is undefeated (and 3-12-1 when he doesn't). Finn O'Brien was another key player, scoring three runs while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

Fort Lauderdale's victory bumped their record up to 6-12-1. As for Stranahan, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-8.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Fort Lauderdale will host Cooper City at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Stranahan, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Boyd Anderson at 4:00 p.m. The Mighty Dragons will need to watch out since the Cobras have now posted at least ten runs in their last three matchups.
