Baseball Game Preview: Ellet Orangemen vs. East Dragons

For the second straight game, Ellet will face off against East. The Orangemen will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against the Dragons at 5:00 p.m. Ellet is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.3 runs per game this season.

Having struggled with three losses in a row, Ellet turned things around against East on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 9-3 margin over the Dragons. Considering the Orangemen have won six games by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Josh Sims spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on two hits and racked up 13 Ks. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Keaton McKeel, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. Ellet is 6-1 when McKeel posts two or more runs, but 2-4 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Evan Dowling, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs.

Ellet's victory bumped their record up to 8-5. As for East, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 3-2.
