Football Recap: Interlachen Comes Up Short

Interlachen was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against the Hilliard Red Flashes, falling 54-34. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Rams of the 54-35 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Interlachen lost, don't look at DJ McKinnon. Despite the final result, he rushed for 108 yards and one score, and also threw for 236 yards and a pair of touchdowns while picking up 10.7 yards per attempt. Brody Stevens was in the mix as well, providing the Rams with two TDs.

Interlachen's defeat dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Hilliard, they moved to 3-5 with that victory, which also ended their four-game losing streak.

Interlachen wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 41-0 loss against St. Joseph Academy on the 24th. As for Hilliard, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 49-0 defeat against Liberty County on the 24th.
