Baseball Recap: Make It 12 in a Row for Northport

Northport had already won 11 in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 13.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it 12 on Wednesday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Kettle Falls Bulldogs a 9-0 shutout. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 13-0 back in March.

Northport's win was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 13-3. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.6 runs on average over those games. As for Kettle Falls, they moved to 6-12 with that loss, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Northport will head out to face off against Cusick at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. The Mustangs will need to watch out since the Panthers have now posted at least ten runs in their last three matches. As for Kettle Falls, they will head out on the road to challenge Reardan at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Bulldogs are facing the Screaming Eagles at the right time seeing as the Screaming Eagles are stuck on a 12-game losing streak.
