Softball Game Preview: Hall Red Devils vs. Newman Central Catholic Comets

Hall hasn't had much luck against Newman Central Catholic recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Red Devils will be playing at home against the Comets at 4:30 p.m.

Hall will bounce into Thursday's contest after beating Newman Central Catholic, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. The Red Devils came out on top against the Comets by a score of 10-5 on Monday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Red Devils considering their two-run performance the match before.

Brynn Blair spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and three unearned) runs on three hits.

On the hitting side, Ava Delphi was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with three runs, two doubles, and two RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March of 2024. Caroline Morris was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three runs, two RBI, and one double.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Hall kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Newman Central Catholic only managed three hits.

Newman Central Catholic has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season. As for Hall, the win snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 4-10 record.
