Basketball Game Preview: Midlothian Trojans vs. Clover Hill Cavaliers

The Midlothian Trojans will square off against the Clover Hill Cavaliers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Midlothian knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past seven games -- so hopefully Clover Hill likes a good challenge.

On Wednesday, Midlothian came up short against Powhatan and fell 70-59. While losing is never fun, the Trojans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 288th, while the Indians are ranked 138th).

Meanwhile, Clover Hill was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They took a 65-53 hit to the loss column at the hands of Cosby.

Midlothian has traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-11 record this season. As for Clover Hill, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 2-11.

Midlothian was able to grind out a solid victory over Clover Hill in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, winning 64-56. Does Midlothian have another victory up their sleeve, or will Clover Hill turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
