The result was an unpleasant reminder to Schalick of the 5-4 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2023.

Luke Pokrovsky was huge no matter where he played even without the win. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over six innings while giving up three earned (and three unearned) runs off six hits. Pokrovsky has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in five consecutive pitching appearances. Pokrovsky was also stellar in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with a home run and two runs.

Pokrovsky wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Lucas D'Agostino, who went 1-for-3 with a double.

Schalick's loss dropped their record down to 15-11. As for Pitman, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten matches, which provided a nice bump to their 20-6 record this season.

Schalick does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Pitman, they will take on Gloucester City on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Pitman comes in on three and Gloucester City on eight.
