Basketball Recap: Fremont Takes a Loss

Fremont was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting the Homestead Mustangs an easy 62-41 win. While losing is never fun, the Firebirds can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 999th, while the Mustangs are ranked 322nd).

Fremont's defeat dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Homestead, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-2.

Fremont will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Lynbrook at 7:45 p.m. on January 4, 2025. As for Homestead, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Independence at 8:00 p.m. on Saturday.
