Two missed extra points doomed
Drew (Riverdale, Ga.) as it fell 34-33 to
Union Grove (McDonough, Ga.).
After taking the lead on a passing touchdown, Drew went into halftime with a 33-14 lead. The Wolverines scored the winning points with a touchdown that came in the fourth quarter.
Despite scoring 13 points in the third, Union Grove still trailed by 6 points going into the fourth quarter. But seven points in the fourth helped UG pull out the victory.
The McDonough school looked to be in trouble when it trailed by 22 points before coming back to beat DHS.
Caleb Ham played well for the Wolverines in the victory. The junior caught one touchdown. He has now scored five touchdowns on the season.
The Riverdale school came in surrendering 12.9 points per game this season. Drew struggled against Union Grove's offense, which entered the game scoring 22.4 points per game.
The loss comes after Drew defeated Mt. Zion 56-6 last week. The loss snapped DHS's 2-game winning streak.
