League recap: Upper St. Clair tops Mt. Lebanon to extend winning streak

WPIAL AAAA Southeastern recap October 29, 2013

Upper St. Clair added to the longest winning streak in WPIAL AAAA Southeastern this week by beating Mt. Lebanon, 35-7. This was the team's ninth consecutive win.

Plum lost to Pine-Richland 42-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.

Trevor Morrow provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Upper St. Clair bested the Blue Devils.

Hunter Cazin was a key player and the best on defense this week as Mt. Lebanon fell to Jim Render's team. The 6-foot-1 sophomore racked up 1 sack.

Troy Apke was the best wideout in the league this week as Mike Melnyk's team lost to the Panthers. Apke racked up 2 receptions for 61 yards. Jake Rolfsen helped Mt. Lebanon's passing attack out by catching 5 balls for 24 yards.

6-foot-3 quarterback Joe Repischak of Upper St. Clair is the league leader in passing yards this season with 936. He has also thrown 4 touchdowns. The leading receiver in the league this season is Apke. The Mt. Lebanon star has 40 catches for 728 yards.

Peters Township led the league in scoring this week after putting up 48 points on Canon-McMillan.
