Volleyball Game Preview: Cimarron-Memorial Spartans vs. Del Sol Dragons

The Cimarron-Memorial Spartans will square off against the Del Sol Dragons at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Cimarron-Memorial is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Monday. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over Sunrise Mountain. The Spartans haven't had any issues with the Miners recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

The match came down to the wire multiple times:three sets needed extra rallies to declare a winner. The match finished with set scores of 25-27, 26-24, 26-24, 25-21.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Del Sol, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Saturday. They came out on top against Amplus Academy by a score of 3-1 on Tuesday. The victory was some much needed relief for the Dragons as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.

Del Sol had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 21-25, 25-12, 25-17, 25-12.

Del Sol's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-12. As for Cimarron-Memorial, their victory bumped their record up to 21-18.

Cimarron-Memorial skirted past Del Sol 3-2 in their previous meeting back in March. Will the Spartans repeat their success, or do the Dragons have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
