Recap: Jones County Greyhounds vs. Eagle's Landing Eagles

After flying high against the Locust Grove Wildcats last Friday, the Jones County Greyhounds came back down to earth. Jones County took a 68-56 hit to the loss column at the hands of Eagle's Landing on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, Jones County can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 75th, while Eagle's Landing is ranked 19th).

Several Greyhounds players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jaleel Jordan, who scored 18 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaden Douglas, who scored 16 points.

Jones County has not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 16-5 record this season. As for Eagle's Landing, they pushed their record up to 13-7 with that victory, which was their fourth straight at home.

Jones County's road trip will continue as they head out to face Warner Robins at 7:30 p.m. on January 26th. One thing working in Warner Robins' favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last ten contests. As for Eagle's Landing, they will be playing at home against Dutchtown at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday.
