Mason extended their losing streak to four on Friday, dropping their season record down to 18-6 in the process. They came up short against the Harrison Wildcats, falling 12-5. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Comets, who until this contest were averaging 3.08 runs allowed.
Mason got a good showing from Brody Countryman, who pitched two innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Countryman has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, Cade Landheer and JJ Darst stepped up to the plate in a big way. Landheer got on base in three of his five plate appearances with one stolen base and one run, while Darst went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI. Landheer has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. Brant Fisher also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.
As for Harrison, they pushed their record up to 9-0 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. Considering they have won seven matchups by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
On Harrison's side, Cam Enneking was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He pitched five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. Enneking was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two RBI and one double.
In other batting news, Harrison got a massive performance out of Seth Green, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and three runs. Jack Geers was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double.
Mason and Harrison should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings. The Comets will challenge West Clermont at 5:00 p.m. on Monday with a big rank advantage (25 vs. 200). Meanwhile, Harrison (ranked 64th) will meet Winton Woods (ranked 627th) at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
