Baseball Recap: North Pocono Wins Going Away Against Scranton

North Pocono got themselves on the board against Scranton on Saturday, but Scranton never followed suit. They put the hurt on the Knights with a sharp 10-0 victory. The Trojans have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Knights, too.

Cael Hafner made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over five innings pitched. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, earning two RBI and one run.

In other batting news, North Pocono let Jason Walsh and Rory McAndrew run wild. Walsh went a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double, while McAndrew went 1-for-2 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. Those three RBI gave McAndrew a new career-high. Nick Reese was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run and two RBI.

North Pocono hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least four batters in three consecutive matches.

North Pocono's record is now 8-3. As for Scranton, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-6.

Looking ahead, North Pocono will head out to take on Abington Heights at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Comets' pitching crew has only allowed 2.3 runs per game this season, so the Trojans' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Scranton, they will face off against Young at 5:55 p.m. on Saturday.
