Baseball Recap: Omaha Westside Takes a Loss

If Omaha Westside was feeling good fresh off their 10-0 takedown of Columbus last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Warriors fell just short of the Creighton Prep Junior Jays by a score of 4-3 on Tuesday. The loss continues a trend for the Warriors in their meetings with the Junior Jays: they've now lost eight in a row.

Markus Chandler was huge no matter where he played even without the win. He struck out six batters over 5.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off one hit. That's the fewest hits he has allowed since back in April of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

In other batting news, Tre Savoie was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run while going 1-for-2.

Omaha Westside's defeat dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Creighton Prep, their record now sits at 4-7.

Coming up, Omaha Westside will be taking part in a tournament against Millard South at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday. The Warriors' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Patriots have averaged an impressive 9.4 runs per game this season. As for Creighton Prep, they will welcome North Platte at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. The Junior Jays' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bulldogs have averaged an impressive 7.2 runs per game this season.
