Baseball Recap: Six Straight Road Victories for Elsinore

Elsinore came out on top against Temescal Canyon on Wednesday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run seventh inning. The Tigers walked away with a 7-3 victory over the Titans. This was a revenge game for the Tigers: when they faced off against the Titans back in March, they had to take a 4-3 defeat.

Andrew Jimenez was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in nine consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run.

In other pitching news, Elsinore got a great performance from Brayden Stankus as he struck out six batters over 5.1 innings while giving up three earned runs off three hits. Stankus has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

Back at the plate, Bryson Boyd was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Elsinore's win was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-7. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.7 runs over those games. As for Temescal Canyon, with the loss, they broke their six-game winning streak and moved their record to 20-4-1.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Elsinore will take on rival West Valley at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Temescal Canyon is set to square off against their familiar foe Tahquitz at 3:15 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Temescal Canyon 2.5, Tahquitz 3.5) so any runs scored will be well earned.
