Basketball Game Preview: Gardner-Edgerton Trailblazers vs. Lawrence Lions

The Gardner-Edgerton Trailblazers will square off against the Lawrence Lions at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Gardner-Edgerton will bounce into Friday's game after beating Olathe East, who they had gone 1-6 against in their seven prior meetings. Gardner-Edgerton snuck past Olathe East with a 44-39 win on Tuesday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Trailblazers.

Landri Schaffer continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double with 26 points and ten rebounds. That makes it seven consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Gardner-Edgerton's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kylie Kyle, who posted ten points.

Gardner-Edgerton smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive rebounds. They are 6-3 when they hit their own glass that hard.

Meanwhile, it was close, but on Tuesday Lawrence sidestepped Shawnee Mission North for a 54-51 victory.

Gardner-Edgerton's win bumped their record up to 9-10. As for Lawrence, their victory bumped their record up to an identical 9-10.
