Recap: Dreher Blue Devils vs. Lower Richland Diamond Hornets
There's no place like home for The Dreher Blue Devils, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Friday. They won a matchup that couldn't have been any closer, slipping by Lower Richland 21-20. The victory was just what Dreher needed coming off of a 53-6 loss in their prior matchup.
When it comes to explaining why Lower Richland lost on Friday, one person who can't be blamed is Lamarion Pearson. Despite the final result, he rushed for 125 yards and a touchdown on only 11 carries. Pearson is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last three games he's played.
Dreher's victory bumped their record up to 5-5. As for Lower Richland, their defeat was their sixth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 2-8.
Dreher will square off against Camden at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Camden presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Dreher in South Carolina (Camden is ranked 35th, while Dreher is ranked 113th). Lower Richland does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
