Football Recap: Socastee Comes Up Short

Socastee was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were outmatched by the Carolina Forest Panthers and fell 45-12. While losing is never fun, the Braves can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina football rankings (they are ranked 133rd, while the Panthers are ranked 27th).

Socastee's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Carolina Forest, they pushed their record up to 5-1 with the win, which was their third straight at home.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Socastee will take on rival North Myrtle Beach at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Carolina Forest is set to challenge their familiar foe St. James at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
