Baseball Recap: Roosevelt Gets the Win

The scorekeeper got an easy start on Friday as neither Roosevelt nor Madera South made it on the board until the fifth inning. The Rough Riders' pitchers stepped up to hand the Stallions a 7-0 shutout. The win continues a trend for the Rough Riders in their matchups with the Stallions: they've now won four in a row.

Cruz Diego made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two hits in five consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

In other pitching news, not much got past Cerrato Xamuel, who gave up just six hits to keep Madera South off the board.

Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Molano Manuel, who went 2-for-4 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run. Martinez Daniel was another key player, earning two runs and one stolen base.

Roosevelt's victory bumped their record up to 13-7-2. As for Madera South, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-10.
