The home team had won the previous four meetings between Woodland Regional and Torrington, and Woodland Regional kept the tradition alive. The Hawks put the hurt on the Raiders with a sharp 3-0 win on Monday. The Hawks haven't had any issues with the Raiders recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive victory against them.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Woodland Regional was: they took every set by at least 13 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-12, 25-8, 25-12.

Ayla DeCrescenzo paced Woodland Regional's offense, picking up nine kills. DeCrescenzo got some help from Hannah Mishler and her 24 assists. Mishler also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Leila Sheetz, racking up four apiece.

Woodland Regional's win bumped their record up to 7-2. As for Torrington, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-6 record this season.
