Basketball Recap: Delmarva Christian Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Malachi Light and Darius Liles

It was a good run, but Delmarva Christian unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Monday. They fell 62-49 to the Arcadia Firebirds.

Delmarva Christian's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Darius Liles, who posted 11 points along with eight rebounds and five steals, and Malachi Light, who almost dropped a double-double on 13 points and nine boards. The dominant performance gave Liles a new career-high in rebounds. Another player making a difference was D J Liles, who had nine points and eight boards.

Tyrell Wise had an outrageously good game for Arcadia as he dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten rebounds. With that strong performance, Wise is now averaging an impressive 2.7 steals per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordan Cropper, who put up eight points in addition to nine boards and five steals.

Delmarva Christian's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-4. As for Arcadia, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season.

Delmarva Christian will be playing in front of their home fans against Salisbury at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for Arcadia, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Nandua at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Nandua comes in on three and Arcadia on six.
