Basketball Recap: Northampton County Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Kaniyah Bottoms and Kaiyah Cherry

Northampton County lost against North Edgecombe back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Northampton County Jaguars took a 51-40 hit to the loss column at the hands of the North Edgecombe Warriors. The Jaguars have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Northampton County's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Kaiyah Cherry, who posted 13 points in addition to six boards and three blocks, and Kaniyah Bottoms, who went 5-for-9 to rack up 12 points. Those 12 points gave Bottoms a new career-high.

Northampton County's defeat dropped their record down to 9-12. As for North Edgecombe, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 13 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season.

As of now, neither Northampton County nor North Edgecombe have any future games scheduled.
