Preview: Adair Warriors vs. Pawhuska Huskies
The Adair Warriors will head out on the road to face off against the Pawhuska Huskies at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Adair is looking to tack on another W to their five-game streak on the road.
Adair can now show off three landslide victories after their most recent match on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 34-14 margin over Vinita.
Cale Winfrey was the offensive standout of the match as he threw for 187 yards and two touchdowns on only 14 passes, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Ryan Wilson did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 140 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Pawhuska's good fortune finally ran out last Friday. They took a serious blow against Sequoyah, falling 49-16.
With Adair's victory and Pawhuska's loss, both teams now sport identical 5-3 records.
Keep an eye on the end zone in Friday's game as the two teams haven't had much trouble getting there this season. Adair commands a daunting offense this season, having averaged 4.9 touchdowns per game. However, it's not like Pawhuska struggles in that department as they've been even better at 5.1 per game. With these two high-octane teams facing off on Friday, fans should be in for an exciting offensive matchup.
Adair took a serious blow against Pawhuska in their previous meeting back in October of 2022, falling 46-18. Thankfully for Adair, Tyrel Richardson (who rushed for 241 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 13.4 yards per carry) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
