Soccer Game Preview: Williston Northampton vs. Suffield Academy

The Williston Northampton Wildcats will venture away from home to square off against the Suffield Academy Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Williston Northampton is headed in fresh off scoring the most goals they have all season. They blew past Wilbraham & Monson Academy 7-2 on Wednesday. The result was nothing new for Williston Northampton, who have now won six contests by three goals or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, Suffield Academy kept a clean sheet against Frederick Gunn on Wednesday. They came out on top against the Highlanders by a score of 2-0. The final result isn't all that surprising considering Suffield Academy's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Connecticut soccer rankings (they are ranked 18th, while Frederick Gunn are ranked 61st).

Williston Northampton's record now sits at 8-4-1. As for Suffield Academy, they moved to 9-4-1 with that victory, which also ended their three-match losing streak.

Williston Northampton suffered a grim 8-1 defeat to Suffield Academy in their previous matchup back in November of 2024. Can the Wildcats avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
