Basketball Recap: Southwestern Proves Higher State Rank Is No Mistake

Southwestern won the last time they faced Fennimore and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Southwestern Wildcats came out on top against the Fennimore Golden Eagles by a score of 59-52. Given the Wildcats' advantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 106th, while the Golden Eagles are ranked 288th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Southwestern's win bumped their record up to 10-3. As for Fennimore, they moved to 4-8 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Southwestern is taking a road trip to take on Mineral Point at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Mineral Point will roll in looking for their 12th straight victory, something Southwestern surely won't give up without a fight. As for Fennimore, they will square off against Boscobel at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Fennimore is facing Boscobel at the right time seeing as Boscobel is stuck on a five-game losing streak.
