There's no place like home for James F. Byrnes, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Riverside Warriors on Monday. This was a revenge game for the Rebels: when they faced off against the Warriors on Saturday, they had to take a 2-1 loss.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 22-25, 25-15, 25-22.

Despite the defeat, Riverside saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Tanner Tumblin had 21 kills, 18 digs, four aces, and two blocks. Tumblin is on a roll when it comes to kills, as he's now had six or more in each of the last eight games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Levi Miller, who had five kills, four digs, and four aces.

James F. Byrnes' win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-9. As for Riverside, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-7.

Looking ahead, James F. Byrnes will face off against May River at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Riverside, they have already played their next match, a 3-2 victory against Eastside on the 10th.
