Volleyball Game Preview: New Hope Trojans vs. Lafayette Commodores

New Hope is 1-9 against Lafayette since October of 2022 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Trojans will face off against the Commodores. The two teams are strolling into their matchups after big wins in their previous games.

New Hope is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They blew past Vicksburg 3-0. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Trojans.

Meanwhile, Lafayette got the win against Cleveland Central on Tuesday by a conclusive 3-0. The Commodores haven't had any issues with the Wolves recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Lafayette was: they took every set by at least 15 points. The match finished with set scores of 25-7, 25-8, 25-10.

Lafayette's win bumped their record up to 14-19. As for New Hope, their victory bumped their record up to 11-21.

New Hope suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to Lafayette when the teams last played two weeks ago. Can the Trojans avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
