Baseball Recap: West Ottawa Comes Up Short

West Ottawa was the 2-1 winner over Grandville when they last played one another on Tuesday, but their luck changed this time around. The Panthers fell 11-7 to the Bulldogs on Thursday.

West Ottawa saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Dylan Vruggink, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Another was Trevyn Bethke, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one double.

West Ottawa has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last eight matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-7 record this season. As for Grandville, they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. West Ottawa will welcome Byron Center at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Grandville, they will look to defend their home field on Saturday against Christian at 10:00 a.m.
