It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Gridley had no problem doing just that on Tuesday. Their defense stepped up to hand the Live Oak Lions a 2-0 shutout. The Bulldogs' defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a goal in their last three games.

Cesar Alvarez and Nolan Weagant scored both of Gridley's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 28 goals.

Gridley's victory bumped their record up to 16-2. As for Live Oak, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-9.

Looking ahead, Gridley will square off against Orland at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Gridley is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 4.2 goals per game this season. Live Oak does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
