Arlington Heights is a perfect 3-0 against Polytechnic since September of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Yellowjackets will take on the Parrots at 7:30 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Arlington Heights has five straight victories, Polytechnic has six straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Arlington Heights gave up the first points on Thursday, but they didn't give up any more after. They took down Chisholm Trail 32-14. Given the Yellowjackets' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 198th, while the Rangers are ranked 503rd) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Arlington Heights' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Carmelo Carter led the charge by rushing for 133 yards and one score while picking up 7.4 yards per carry, and also throwing for 94 yards and one TD. Another back making a difference was Carson James, who rushed for 124 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Arlington Heights didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Chisholm Trail to a completion percentage of just 35.3%. The Yellowjackets hasn't an opponent to post a completion percentage of 0.42 or higher in three consecutive games.

Meanwhile, Polytechnic scored the most points they've had this season on Thursday, but it wasn't enough. They fell 20-13 to Trimble Tech.

Arlington Heights' win bumped their record up to 5-0. As for Polytechnic, their loss dropped their record down to 0-5.

Everything came up roses for Arlington Heights against Polytechnic in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, as the team secured a 63-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Yellowjackets since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
