Baseball Recap: Bloomfield Comes Up Short

Bloomfield fell victim to Livingston and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They lost 10-0 to the Lancers. The Bengals were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Lancers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2023.

Bloomfield saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kevin Obiedzinski, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base. Obiedzinski has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.

Bloomfield has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last nine matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-13 record this season. As for Livingston, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season.

Bloomfield will challenge Hudson Catholic at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Livingston, they will head out on the road to take on Union City at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Lancers 3.4, the Soaring Eagles 3.7) so any runs scored will be well earned.
