Football Recap: Braxton Bonneau Key Part of Team Effort in Panthers Win

Bancroft-Rosalie barely beat Homer the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Panthers were the clear victors by a 50-30 margin over the Knights on Friday. With the Panthers ahead 36-8 at the half, the game was all but over already.

Bancroft-Rosalie's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Braxton Bonneau led the charge by rushing for 150 yards and three scores. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaden Browning, who threw for 156 yards and a pair of TDs on only ten passes.

Homer lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Austin Pelster, who picked up 78 receiving yards and one touchdown, and also rushed for 78 yards. Axton Caskey was another key player, throwing for 216 yards and a pair of TDs.

Bancroft-Rosalie has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 46.0 points this season. As for Homer, their defeat was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bancroft-Rosalie will head out to square off against Neligh-Oakdale at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Homer, they will venture away from home to take on Wausa/Osmond at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
