Taylor County is a perfect 9-0 against Barren County since March of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Cardinals will host the Trojans at 6:00 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Taylor County 2.7, Barren County 3.8) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Taylor County had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the six-run drubbing they dealt Meade County on Saturday. The Cardinals blew past the Green Waves 7-1. The result was nothing new for the Cardinals, who have now won 12 matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, Barren County was not the first on the board on Saturday, but they got there more often. They had just enough and edged out Daviess County 6-5.
Like Taylor County, Barren County also got a great game from a two-way player: JP Hyde. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Taylor County is on a roll lately: they've won 15 of their last 18 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.9 runs over those games. As for Barren County, their win was their 13th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 22-7.
Taylor County took their victory against Barren County in their previous matchup back in March by a conclusive 8-2 score. Do the Cardinals have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Trojans turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
